Love Life
JOYCE MEYER

Joyce Meyer is one of the world's leading practical Bible teachers. A New York Times bestselling author, her books have helped millions of people find hope and restoration through Jesus Christ.

Bible Teacher and Author
Through Joyce Meyer Ministries, she teaches on a number of topics with a particular focus on the mind, mouth, moods and attitudes. Her candid communication style allows her to share openly and practically about her experiences so others can apply what she has learned to their lives.

Joyce has authored over 80 books, which have been translated into over 80 different languages. More than 12 million of her books have been distributed around the world, and each year millions of copies are sold.

Each year, Joyce conducts close to a dozen domestic and international conferences, teaching people to enjoy their everyday lives. For almost 30 years, her annual women’s conference has attracted more than 200,000 women from all over the world to St. Louis for specifically themed teachings by her and guest speakers.

Joyce also hosts a TV and radio show, Enjoying Everyday Life®, which broadcasts worldwide to a potential audience of 4.5 billion people.

Offering a Hand of Hope
Through her teachings and resources, God has provided opportunities to meet the needs of the suffering and bring the Gospel in a practical way. Joyce travels extensively, visiting the worldwide outreaches of Hand of Hope, Joyce Meyer Ministries World Missions, including her hometown of St. Louis.

One particular outreach in St. Louis is the St. Louis Dream Center. The Dream Center serves the inner city through hands-on programs targeted to reaching the lost and hurting with the love of Christ. Dave and Joyce founded the DC in 2000, and it continues to be an integral part of Joyce Meyer Ministries.

Sharing Her Story to Help Others
Over the years, God has provided Joyce with many opportunities to share her testimony and the life-changing message of the Gospel. Having suffered sexual abuse as a child as well as just dealing with the struggles of everyday life, Joyce discovered the freedom to live victoriously by applying God's Word to her life and in turn desires to help others do the same.

Joyce is and continues to be an incredible testimony of the dynamic, redeeming work of Jesus Christ.

JOEL OSTEEN

Joel Osteen is the senior pastor of Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas, which—according to Forbes magazine—is America's largest and fastest growing church with more than 40,000 attendees each week.

Although many young aspiring pastors would love to see this kind of success, Joel actually never sought out this position of leadership. As the son of the late John Osteen, founder of Lakewood Church, Joel’s background was in media, not pastoral studies. He studied radio and television communications at Oral Roberts University and soon started Lakewood’s TV ministry and produced the sermons of his father, John Osteen.

From Producer to Preacher
For many years, Joel's father encouraged him to preach, but he always declined, preferring to work behind the scenes. But in early 1999, Joel felt compelled to accept his father's invitation, and he preached his first sermon on January 17 of that year. Little did anyone know that would be the last Sunday of John Osteen's life. Two weeks later, Joel began preaching and later that year was installed as the senior pastor of Lakewood Church. Joel picked up where his dad left off. His destiny and success as a pastor seemed clear.

A Message of Hope
At the core of Joel’s teachings is that God is a good God who desires to bless those who are obedient and faithful to Him through Jesus Christ. Each week, Joel offers hope and encouragement to more than 38,000 attendees. His heart is for everyone who hears this message to accept God's goodness and mercy and to become all that God wants them to be. His weekly message is viewed by 10 million Americans each week and in almost 100 nations around the world.

Influence in the Media
In addition to preaching, his books Your Best Life Now, Become a Better You, It’s Your Time, and Every Day A Friday have all been #1 New York Times Bestsellers.

Joel inspires tens of millions of people worldwide through his weekly TV broadcast and podcast, as well as through his sold-out worship events in arenas and stadiums across the U.S. and abroad.

Joel, his wife Victoria and their two children make their home in Houston, Texas.

CHRISTINE CAINE

Christine Caine is what you call a passionate, inspirational, determined traveling-preacher-chick! Most noted for her enthusiastic style of communicating profound messages of hope and inspiration, she invigorates anyone who hears the compassion in her voice. Chris has a heart for reaching the lost, strengthening leaders, championing the cause of justice and building the local church.

A Strong Foundation
Behind Chris’ passionate faith in Christ is her own story of being adopted at birth. She went through most of her young adult life not even knowing. When the truth was revealed, Chris didn’t respond as if she had been unwanted or born without a purpose. No, she knew that her strong faith in Jesus Christ was her foundation and that she was created with an identity in Him, no matter what her earthly situation had been.

The truth of who she is in Christ fuels Chris’ message of hope to others who are struggling to find their purpose or those who may be hurting from life’s circumstances.

Serving with a Purpose
Chris is a member of the leadership team at Hillsong London and also directs Equip & Empower Ministries, which serves the local church and is headquartered in Australia. In 2008, Chris and her husband, Nick, founded The A21 Campaign, an organization birthed in her home country of Greece. A21 is dedicated to addressing the injustice of human trafficking as well as assisting rescued victims with a safe place to stay and help re-entering society successfully.

She has also authored life-changing books including A Life Unleashed, The Core Issue, Run To Win, and Can I Have And Do It All, Please?

When she’s not traveling around the globe speaking or fighting against human trafficking, Chris spends time with her husband Nick and their two daughters.

DARLENE ZSCHECH

Darlene Zschech is an internationally acclaimed singer, songwriter, worship leader and speaker, most notably for her involvement in the music of Hillsong Church in Australia. As a songwriter, Darlene is perhaps most famous for her chorus “Shout to the Lord.” Her success musically is simply a testimony to her life’s passion to serve God and people with all her heart.

A Heart for the Hurting
Darlene has a great heart for helping hurting people, and she has recognized that her public platform gives her the opportunity to make a significant difference in the lives of others.

She and husband Mark have made a life commitment to do whatever they could to bring answer and relief to human suffering. One of their great joys in life is to work with Compassion International, serving the world's poorest of the poor children and being committed wholeheartedly to relieving human suffering in any possible way.

Darlene and her husband Mark are also senior pastors of Hope Unlimited Church on the Central Coast of New South Wales, Australia.

While they travel extensively and have the honor of working and ministering alongside amazing friends around the globe, family remains Darlene's supreme delight. As she says, "First and foremost I am a woman who simply and wholeheartedly loves Christ, and serves Him through loving my family, serving the church, and speaking up for those who cannot speak for themselves."

KARI JOBE

Young girls dream about many things when they grow up. Since she was 10, Kari knew she wanted to be a worship leader. Raised in a Christian home with a father who was a traveling minister, Kari began singing in church when she was three. Even as a little girl she recalls the constant tug inside her toward worship.

Making It Personal
After studying at Oral Roberts University, Christ for the Nations and Dallas Baptist University, Gateway Church in Southlake, Texas, hired her as worship pastor. A featured artist on Gateway Worship projects, Kari released her debut album Kari Jobe in 2009.

The album features new versions of “Revelation Song,” “No Sweeter Name” and “My Beloved,” in addition to new songs of worship birthed from Kari’s life and through journaling. The deeply personal “You Are for Me” is a favorite of hers.

“This song is gut-wrenching for me. There are times you are so broken that all you can do is sing over yourself with words like, ‘God is for me.’ But I believe it is one song that people can use to remember that God is for us, so who can be against us.”

For Kari, the work of ministry always comes back to people. “Music becomes a way to minister to people in times of trouble, to lead them to the feed of Jesus who can bring peace, life, hope and healing.”

FUZED WORSHIP

Fuzed Worship is not about a band or solo artist. It's about creating music that upholds truth and surpasses trends and momentary movements - centered on justice and focused on worship - music to unite and inspire a generation to serve Christ and demonstrate His love.

From Fuzed’s Heart…
Our life should be about worship - about upholding justice, living out compassion and inspiring a true passion to serve God. This is the core belief of Fuzed Worship.

It’s more than just theory, more than good ideas, it’s taking the music and allowing it to breathe and encounter people on a daily level - to create, stand back and watch God do what He wants.

If the focus becomes more about building our momentary kingdom than uplifting the Kingdom of our Heavenly Father, we’ve completely missed the mark and settled for less than He intends.

Honoring God
It is this resolve that inspired Fuzed Worship’s co-creators Daniel Meyer and Nate Edmonds to start writing songs together. Daniel, CEO of Joyce Meyer Ministries, and Nate, a longtime employee and musician with the ministry, had no idea that what they were writing would be the birth of Fuzed Worship. They just wanted to write songs to honor God.

But God had plans for their efforts and 30 songs later, they were recording the first Fuzed Worship music project and releasing it through Joyce Meyer Ministries.

Nate and the Fuzed Worship band are excited about being part of Love Life 2012. As their focus on worshiping from the heart continues, they will be seeking God for what He has in store and continue creating music to unite and inspire a generation to serve Christ and demonstrate His love.

MANDISA

Often an artist’s strengths inspire their best work. But for acclaimed contemporary Christian singer Mandisa, it’s her human flaws and frailties that gave birth to her stellar third album, What If We Were Real.

The two-time Grammy nominee and season five American Idol finalist knows that nobody is perfect—and she wants her fans to realize that, too. “A lot of people think we as Christians have to put our masks on and pretend that everything is great. The truth of the matter is I have bad days too and am still learning to bring that to the Lord and let Him lift my burden.”

From Struggle to Strength
Mandisa’s own personal struggle with weight loss propelled her to be real with people and to not always act like she had it all together. She decided to let people in and through her music, she encourages listeners who are going through a difficult time.

Her new career-defining project, released on Sparrow Records, reminds us all that everyone struggles. The strength to persevere, to overcome and to be real is the focus of What If We Were Real’s first single, “Stronger.” Inspired by the belief that surviving hardship makes us more resilient, the tune sums up part of Mandisa’s recent past.

“A struggle is a struggle, and Jesus is there through it all. He is there in compassion and grace. I have found that what He has spoken to me through these songs has been encouraging and I think that’ll be true for other people who are going through their own hard times.”

A Journey Through Hope
Mandisa’s journey has taken her through similar struggles that many of us face, but she never lost hope. “I feel I have a closer intimacy with the Lord than when I first started. He is the reason I’m still here.”

Joyce Gets Personal

We asked Joyce to share from her heart on a few subjects she’s asked most about. Here’s what she had to say...

You have a busy work schedule and do a lot of traveling. Do you ever take time to unwind?
“I have learned that it’s very important to find a healthy balance with work and rest, and when I’m recharging, I do things that are fun for me, like shopping, relaxing at home and watching a good clean movie or spending time with family and friends.”

Is it really possible to “enjoy everyday life”?
“Absolutely. Now that doesn’t mean I feel happy all the time, but I can honestly say I really enjoy my daily life. I didn’t used to feel this way, but God helped me understand that liking myself and enjoying my life is His will for me – it’s part of what Jesus died for me to have in this life. And I want everything He has for me!

How do you handle regret?
“I don’t live with regret at this stage of my life, but I have had to let go of things I didn’t understand at times and just trust God. I still do.

“For example, when I was a young girl, praying for God to make my dad stop abusing me, and He didn’t, I didn’t understand why I had to go through it. But now that I can see how God is using what I went through to help so many other people have hope and believe they can be what God really created them to be, I am just glad that my pain from the past – which I don’t live with at all anymore – is making a huge difference in helping others get the healing and restoration they desperately need from God.

I will always be incredibly amazed by God’s love and His power to completely restore anyone no matter what they’ve been through.”

You’re an established Bible teacher now. What do you remember about starting out?
“The very beginning days of my ministry were exciting days, but they were quickly followed by very difficult days. I had moments when I wanted to give up, and it was hard to have such a huge vision and what I thought were only small opportunities to minister.

“But it was God’s plan for me to start by doing little things, like leading a home Bible study with about 20 people. And I needed that. It was a character-building time for me. It was during those days that I learned how to really trust God to provide everything we needed.

“I remember believing God back then for socks and underwear, money to pay for a new tire or to fix the refrigerator. Now we are able to believe God to provide for the ministry we’re doing literally around the world.”

Are you still learning? What is God still teaching you?
“There are different things God gives me correction on or speaks to me about at different times but an issue I deal with a lot is keeping my priorities straight. I used to be a workaholic and didn’t feel good about myself unless I was doing something “productive.” But it was such an unhealthy way to live, and I never enjoyed anything I was doing. It also made me sick.

“So when God got ahold of my heart and showed me the changes I needed to make, I took it seriously and have learned how to manage my time better, only make commitments to do what God wants me to do, and spend time alone with Him every day. I don’t get it perfectly right all the time, but when my priorities start to get out of order, I straighten them out again and keep going.”

Interview with Joel Osteen

We are excited to welcome Joel Osteen to the lineup of speakers at the 2012 women’s conference. Joel has a passion to see people live with purpose and hope. Meet Joel Osteen…

JMM: Initially, you weren’t interested in being a minister. How did you become the pastor of America’s largest church?
JOEL: My dad was the minister at Lakewood Church and he encouraged me to preach for years but I just didn’t have the desire to. I finally agreed to give a sermon five days before he died in 1999. I just knew I was supposed to do that. I didn’t know the church would grow. I didn’t know if it would last or if I could even do it. What that tells me is that God puts things in us that we don’t know we have.

JMM: You’re known as a great encourager. What keeps you encouraged?
JOEL: To hear people say that God has used me to help change their life. I’m encouraged by people all the time. And I wouldn’t be half the man I am if it wasn’t for Victoria. My wife has sown into me and she’s seen things in me that I’ve never seen in myself.

JMM: This year’s conference is all about hope. What does hope mean to you?
JOEL: Your best days are still out in front of you. I see a lot of people who get stuck in a rut in their attitude…their marriage…their career. There are practical things we can do to be better. We should always be growing. We shouldn’t be at the same place next year as we are right now. God is a good God, and when we walk in His ways, He’ll take us places we never dreamed of.

Get to know more Joel more at this year’s conference. We know you’ll be encouraged and leave with a more hopeful outlook on life!

Interview with Christine Caine

She exudes purpose―and we’re delighted to have her share wisdom, godly confidence and hope for the future with you at this year’s women’s conference. Meet Christine Caine…

JMM: You have a special heart for women. What do you want them to know?
CHRISTINE: I want every woman to know that she is loved by God and created by Him…for His purposes. There is so much more potential inside of us than we are currently realizing, and I want to help empower women to live out their God-given potential and purpose.

JMM: You’re such a passionate speaker. Where does it come from?
CHRISTINE: I am Greek so passion is a part of my DNA, but I also know what Jesus has done in and for me, and I want everyone to experience His grace, love and mercy. I think when you have truly encountered the wonder of salvation you can’t help but be passionate.

JMM: You cofounded the A21 Campaign. Tell us about it.
CHRISTINE: We’re an abolitionist movement committed to ending human trafficking. I think one of the greatest abominations is to keep human beings in slavery. It is for freedom that Christ set us free, and freedom is the right of every human being and a cause we must all fight for.

JMM: This year’s conference is all about hope. What does hope mean to you?
CHRISTINE: In a world full of hopelessness, never has there been a more important time to proclaim the hope that is available to all in Christ. Jesus is this hope we have as an anchor for our soul. As many things in our world are crumbling, Jesus is both firm and secure.

We’re so glad to have Christine back for the 30th anniversary Love Life Women’s Conference, and we can tell she’s excited about speaking too. “Joyce is my spiritual mother and one of the greatest honors of my life is to have the opportunity to share in the celebration of her 30th annual women’s conference,” she said. “This will be a very special gathering.”
