Through Hand of Hope, several opportunities await you to share your gifts and time at the St. Louis Dream Center. These outreaches are uniquely designed for your distinct God-given gifts to be used to help restore beauty in St. Louis and advance His Kingdom.
All Internships are unpaid volunteer staff opportunities that include free housing, food and training opportunities.
Volunteer internship opportunities include a variety of options up to a one-year unpaid commitment of service. Each of these is designed to equip emerging leaders for lifetime of service.
If this season of life does not allow you to commit long-term, there still is a place of service for you. Daily and weekly volunteers find an enriching experience through our ongoing outreach programs. Join us for a day or more of ministry at one of our outreaches, which is a great opportunity for introductory involvement with the St. Louis Dream Center. And, for leaders planning a short-term missions trip to St. Louis, this serves as a great day of preparation.
If you are an emerging leader, then perhaps you're ready to commit to a longer period of service.
Many emerging leaders are looking for an experience that God uses to shape and direct their future. A one month unpaid internship allows time for God to guide you, while gaining valuable hands-on ministry experience. (This is a shorter version of the one-year unpaid internship listed below)
Our one-year unpaid internship is designed to shape and equip emerging leaders with the skills and understanding for a lifetime of compassion-evangelism service. This year-long opportunity as volunteer staff focuses on the discovery of God-given gifts and a lifetime purpose for followers of Jesus. A combination of hands-on practical ministry and leadership development equips interns for a lifetime of servant leadership in their local church.
Adopt-A-Block is an outreach demonstrating God's unconditional love to the St. Louis community through practical acts of service. This includes providing lawn care, delivering toys for Christmas, doing home repair projects, playing games with neighborhood children and much more. We have seen God use this ministry time and again to create supernatural change and lasting impact in the lives we touch.
Whether it's through weekly food distribution, our After School Feeding Program, the DC Cafe, or even our own Food Pantry, the goal is to share the love of Christ through meeting people’s real needs in our community. By first satisfying a person's physical hunger, we can then address their spiritual hunger. Throughout the week, the SLDC impacts thousands of lives via this practical ministry of sharing Christ’s love.
KidZJam is a carnival on wheels! We bring all kinds of fun activities for kids when the team rolls into their neighborhood. And, the day is topped off with a 45-minute program that features group games, worship, and a biblical lesson presented in a way kids can easily understand.
The St. Louis Dream Center utilizes the latest technology and media tools to communicate the gospel, both inside our walls and outside in the local community. As a department of Joyce Meyer Ministries, and international media ministry, volunteer interns receive a unique experience, which equips them for a life of service. Opportunities include life support, postproduction, social media, and more.
Weekly our teams visit approximately hundreds of people living in senior care centers and nursing home facilities throughout St. Louis. Volunteers share songs, scriptures, and testimonies to encourage the residents and teach about salvation, healing, and the working of the Holy Spirit in their lives.
The SLDC Street Ministry meets both the physical and spiritual needs of homeless men, women, and children on the streets of St. Louis. Throughout the week trained ministry teams seek out homeless on street corners, under tunnel's, in homeless shelters, and group homes. These special guests are bused to the Dream Center for a haircut, shower, hot meal and church service. The love of Christ is also provided through practical items such as food, drinks, blankets, and clothing.
The backbone of the St. Louis Dream Center is strong administrative and operational support. There are many unpaid volunteer staff positions available to work hand-in-hand with the Ministry leaders of the SLDC.
