What is geolocation and

what do we use it for?

Geolocation is a tool we use to determine which of our offices services your area by identifying the country from which you are currently accessing our bookstore. If this is not the correct country, just change the location to the country you’re in. For further assistance, contact our office.

100,000 Inmates Changed Forever

It's been 13 years since we went into our very first prison. What started as a simple goal to reach every prison in Missouri has expanded into a worldwide outreach—visiting more than 2 million inmates in 34 countries and including all 50 U.S. states.

Sharing the Gospel
Recently we reached an important milestone: we witnessed the 100,000th inmate receive Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. Thanks to your support more than 100,000 inmates are now experiencing freedom in Christ.

Psalm 146:7 says [God] upholds the cause of the oppressed and gives food to the hungry. The LORD sets prisoners free. Thanks to your support of Joyce Meyer Ministries, Hand of Hope, you're allowing us to take this message to prisons all around the world. And God is spiritually setting them free…one by one.

Prison Outreach Behind-the-Scenes
It takes quite a bit of preparation and time to get into the prisons. It's a process fully covered in prayer because our desire is to see even more inmates respond to the Gospel and find freedom in Christ—the only one who can bring lasting change. Here's a brief overview of everything that goes into reaching inmates.

  • Identify states and prisons.
  • Contact the Directors of Department of Corrections for approval to enter the prison.
  • Upon approval from Directors of Department of Corrections, our prison outreach team contacts those prisons (usually the warden) directly to see if they are interested in having a team visit.
  • Determine dates for visits and what each visit will include, such as distribution of hygiene gift bags and holding services in the prison.
  • Schedule volunteers to come in and assemble hygiene gift bags. Each bag includes personal care items, an encouraging letter and one of Joyce's books.

  • Load gift bags into trucks.
  • Roy Lormis, Prison Outreach Supervisor, and whoever else is going on this trip (varies for each trip) drive the truck to the prison.
  • Security at the prisons is very tight, so all of the boxes and hygiene bags are gone through thoroughly to ensure nothing is being smuggled into the prisons.
  • Distribute gift bags to every inmate.
  • At most prisons, Roy is given the opportunity to share a special message, offering the opportunity for inmates to learn more about the love of Jesus Christ. Roy often says, "Going into prisons is like going into the front lines of hell and battling for souls for the Kingdom of God."

In more than 2,500 prisons, our prison outreach teams have had the opportunity to hear countless stories of God's restoration and redemption. It's what keeps us going, reaching out to inmates all around the world. Your support allows us to do just that!

Hand of Hope is the missions arm of Joyce Meyer Ministries. Our goal is simply to help as many hurting people as we possibly can, to alleviate human suffering and to help Christians grow in their faith.
