If you believe you won't succeed and don't, DON'T BLAME someone else because you won't believe and don't.

And Abel brought of the firstborn of his flock and of the fat portions. And the Lord had respect and regard for Abel and for his offering, but for Cain and his offering He had no respect or regard. So Cain was exceedingly angry and indignant…. And the Lord said to Cain, Why are you angry?…If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin crouches at your door; its desire is for you, but you must master it.
—Genesis 4:4-7

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN Abel and Cain was in their hearts. Too much is made of the type of sacrifices they brought and too little of the fact God loves a cheerful giver. Abel brought his sacrifice as a reflection of a heart that knew its sin and was reaching out to God in faith for salvation (Hebrews 11:4). Cain refused to recognize his sin and brought his sacrifice without faith and was rejected by God. But rather than deal with the sin of his heart, Cain turned his unbelief and anger on his brother and killed him. Remember this: God never receives an offering from an unwilling, unbelieving heart.
