Free Health Screenings

ST. LOUIS (5/9/07) – The St. Louis Dream Center will host free health screenings provided by the National Urban League and Walgreens on Thursday, May 24, from 11am to 5pm at 4324 Margaretta Ave, St. Louis, 63115.

One of the biggest problems facing the urban community today is preventable disease. Many diseases can be detected through screenings long before symptoms are noticed, which is why awareness is so important.

The health screening will include: cholesterol, glucose and bone density screenings, body mass index (BMI) measurement, and blood pressure testing. The screenings will take about 20-25 minutes and would normally cost more than $100. Participants will be able to get their results immediately, but no diagnoses will be given.

The free health screenings are part of the National Urban League/Walgreens Wellness Tour which will be conducted in over 25 communities throughout the United States.
