Dream Center Helps Inner-City Families During Holidays

ST. LOUIS (11/15/05) — Sitting at home, surrounded by family, enjoying a Thanksgiving dinner is something we can all take for granted. However, for many of those in the inner city, a Thanksgiving Day meal is nothing more than a dream. This year the St. Louis Dream Center will make that dream a reality for over 300 families.

The St. Louis Dream Center will bring the Thanksgiving holiday to hundreds of families by giving away 500 turkey baskets loaded with food from 12pm - 5pm on:

Wednesday, November 16

Thursday, November 17

Friday, November 18

“We’re bringing the holiday to these people in their own homes. We provide all the means necessary for them to prepare a full Thanksgiving meal in the comfort of their kitchen. The St. Louis Dream Center is the answer to hundreds of families' prayers,” said Senior Pastor Jeff Allensworth.

The Dream Center has numerous volunteers dedicating their time to help give area residents a meaningful Thanksgiving. Each basket is designed to feed 8-10 people and will contain a 10-14 pound turkey, corn, green beans, sweet potatoes, dried cherries, dried cranberries, turkey gravy, rice, peas, two cream pies, miniature marshmallows, corn muffin mix, stuffing mix, pumpkin, brown sugar, spaghetti & spaghetti sauce, jellied cranberry sauce, baking mix, chicken broth, cream of mushroom, cream of chicken, margarine, sugar, and flour.
