Job Title: Web Content Administrator
Job Type: Full-time
Job Summary
The Web Content Administrator oversees and performs the daily workload for the Web Department as directed by the department Manager. The ideal candidate has a strong background in web content management, as well as experience in all aspects of web production.​ This job will appeal to a high performing team player who takes initiative, can think both strategically and functionally, and ensure quality on every project.
Job Description
  • Oversee and handle day-to-day work flow for the Web Department, working closely with Marketing, Print, and Development staffs
  • Handle a high volume of work on a daily basis, a large percentage of which has an extremely fast turn-around
  • Keep work flowing in the most efficient and effective manner, with sensitivity to personnel and creative issues
  • Keep Manager informed of all issues related to the Web
  • Research, write, edit, proofread and maintain website and other electronic content (emails, e-newsletters, ads) to enhance the users' online experience, promote key offerings and support our brand positioning
  • Develop and produce electronic content that reflects online usability best practices
  • Work with web writer, applying editorial skills to develop copy and integrate text, design and content organization and navigation
  • Work in close partnership with internal clients, account managers, designers, user experience designers and technical experts to ensure content, design and technical requirements meet business and user needs
  • Proactively review electronic content and recommend usability improvements (content clarity, brevity, calls to action, and streamlined online navigation)
  • Ensure web content meets established editorial, quality and industry standards for web usability and accessibility
  • Work with the technical team to address challenges in displaying and integrating content with online customer service applications
  • Supervise the mass email process through proofing, notification announcements, and final review of approved elements
  • Verify and approve content in the CMS, ensuring content publication guidelines are met
  • Work with web assistant as some approval roles are shared
  • Help investigate issues/problems reported by other departments, including copy errors, functionality errors, etc.
  • Review non-JMM websites and mass emails to stay informed of current trends
  • Serve as backup for web assistant

Job Requirements
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS and XML; Javascript knowledge a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft CMS or other CMS systems desirable
  • Experience with ExactTarget or other mass email systems
  • Excellent communication, decision-making, interpersonal and analytical skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with associates of varying technical skill
  • Excellent web writing and editorial skills in a large corporate environment
  • Strong understanding of AP Style Guide and associated grammar, punctuation, style and copyediting rules
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in web content development
  • Solid understanding of current industry standards and techniques for digital content management
  • Strong relationship management skills
  • Ability to interface with internal clients and creative staff to ensure high quality work
