Streaming FAQ

Q. I am getting one of the following errors from Real Player, Windows Media Player or QuickTime when I try to access the online daily radio and TV broadcasts. Why is that?

1.

Windows Media
Error: Windows Media Player cannot play the file because the server is not available. (e.g., the server is busy or not online

2.

Real Player
Error:  Server has reached its capacity and cannot serve anymore.

3.

QuickTime
Error: 3285
Disconnected.

A. Due to high traffic volume, our media servers currently have a limited number of connections that are available at any given time for users to view or listen to online broadcasts. Our online broadcast traffic load is higher during the morning hours, so if you receive one of the above “server has reached its limit” messages, we suggest that you try back later in the day.

Q. I missed an online radio or television broadcast. It’s no longer available and is beyond the 20-day broadcast archive available on www.joycemeyer.org. Can I still access the broadcast?

A. Currently we only offer a 20-day archive of the online broadcasts on our website due to the high traffic volume that we receive every day. In the future we may offer more then 20 days in our online broadcast archive. Until then, we apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause.

Q. I get sound but no video, or the video is freezing when trying to watch the daily TV broadcast online. Why is that?

A. Your media player may not be configured properly. Please refer to the media player optimization settings section below.

Streaming Media Player Optimization Settings:

Important Cautionary Note: The streaming audio and video on www.joycemeyer.org is compatible for playback, depending on your selection, in Windows Media, Real Player and QuickTime. From time to time Microsoft (Windows Media), Real Networks (Real Player), and Apple (QuickTime) will provide upgrades or new versions of their respective media players to the public. These upgrades or new versions, sometimes called “beta” versions, can be unstable and cause incompatibility issues for the end user. As a result, we strongly recommend that you wait several months beyond the availability of a new media player to the public to allow for a more stable version to become available.
